Drug Switching: We Need Your Stories

Has your insurance company asked you to change your medicine?


We need your help. In order to take action against the dangerous and manipulative practices used by some health insurance plans, we need your stories.


One risky practice is known as "drug switching," in which health insurance companies send misleading letters to their clients, encouraging them to switch from their brand name prescription drugs to a "generic alternative."


Unfortunately, a generic alternative is dangerous in the sense that it may have a different chemical makeup than the drugs prescribed by your doctor, which is potentially harmful.


It doesn't help that the letters encouraging drug switching are purposely confusing and vague about what a generic alternative entails.
