TALLAHASSEE- The Consumer Federation of the Southeast (CFSE) is accepting nominations for its "Who's Playing Consumers for Fools?" awards of notoriety, which will be awarded on April Fools' Day.
"The mid-point of the legislative session coincides with April Fool's Day - a fitting time to call out the individuals and special interests that are playing consumers for fools," said Walt Dartland, executive director of the CFSE and longtime consumer advocate. "This is about educating consumers before it's too late and they find out the joke's on them."
Anyone may nominate an individual, corporation, special interest, lobbyist or even a legislator for a "Who's Playing Consumers for Fools?" award by filling out the form on the CFSE web site, www.consumerfederationse.com. Losers, those selected to receive the awards, will be announced at a news conference on April 1 and will receive an April Fools' card.
